I have come to a dead stop at 1813, with the marriage WILLIAM RICHARDS and ANN RATTON. WILLIAM RICHARDS was born abt 1787 and ANN RATTON was born abt 1789. So far I've not been able to trace any clues as to the parents of WILLIAM RICHARDS. Hope someone can help.

Ann RATTON bap Scotter, 11 July 1791, dau of Thomas and Ann (IGI batch C031322 )
I can't see a RICHARDS bap at Scotter before the ten children of William and Ann in the period 1814-31.

Thanks for the info regarding Ann Ratton.
Maybe it's time to start looking to the villages around the Scotter area. I don't have much more to go on.
