Hi,
My gggg grandparents George Bowser and Mary Ann Green were married on 9 July, 1788 at St Luke’s, Old Street, Finsbury. Their son, Robert Bowser, was christened on 21 June, 1798 at Lower Street Independent, Islington.
Where can I obtain copies of records of the above? What is the process and cost?
Regards
Mike Evans

1. St Luke Old Street registers are at the London Metropolitan Archives. LMA is about to close to the public for refurbishment although I believe other services continue.
2. The chapel registers are at the National Archives in series RG 4.
3. Both sets of records have been filmed by the mormons (St Luke is catalogued under Finsbury rather than Islington) and you can order in the film through one of their Family History Centres or whatever they call them.

Hallo Roger and welcome to the Forum. Mike Evans has not visited for a while but hopefully he will get an e-mail notification of your post.
Since he made his post the LMA records have appeared on Ancestry. The 1788 marriage entry states that George was from St.Clement East Cheap, that the marriage was by licence, and that the witnesses were Samuel Green and Samuel Green Junior.Sue Mackay
