how do go about getting information about irish national.
my great great grandftather was borm in Dublin 1848 and died in Birmingham in 1874.
his family were catholic and his brther a priest. I do not have naything more.

Dublin is in the provence of Leinster.
Therefore a long shot!
Training for priests was in Maynooth Co Kildare Ireland.

I do not know if you have discovered this little gem: Tracing your Dublin Ancestors, published by Flyleaf Press. It is available from Parish Chest (6th one down on the page) and I bought a copy earlier this year.
It is packed full of information and provides details of where to look for records.
