    Default Marriage at home

I have a marriage between a Willam MOFFAT and a Margaret Morrison WATERS in 1899 that took place in Glasgow at the address listed on the GROS entry as the home of William MOFFAT.

Has anyone else come across this in their family history research?

Yes, It was quite normal in Glasgow at that time. At a rough guess, about 40% of my Glasgow marriages 1870s-1910s were at home (either bride or groom). I should say, my folks were all working-class; I can't speak for the more affluent.
