Hi
I am helping a friend trace his family unfortunately he doesn't have internet access so thought I would post on here for him:
He is looking for William Henry Clewlow who married Mary Ellen Hughes in 1880/1
According to the 1891 Census
They lived at 16, Boundary Street. Newcastle Under Lyme, Stafford,
He is trying to find a list of all their children.
I can't seem to find them after the 1891 census
I know it's a long shot but if anyone has any information in this family it would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Hi Mandy
sorry to say no luck with the census but have found the marriage:
William H Clewlow March quarter 1881 Newcastle under Lyme 6b 86
afraid this only takes you back to the fathers not forward to the children

I then carried out an advanced person search on the 1901 census index.
I entered the surname as CL*L*, forename = William, age = 41 +/- 5 years and birthplace = Tunstall
This came back with one hit on the index, with the name as CLENLOW (sic), living in Newcastle U Lyme. It would seem that the indexer may have misread the census return.
Then searching the 1901 index just on CLENLOW, and the place Newcastle throws up a number of entries who appear to be a family group. I've pasted the entries below. Your friend will need to pay to view the original entry or visit the record office.
William Clenlow, 41, Tunstall Staffs Staffordshire Newcastle U Lyme Brewery Labourer
Mary Clenlow, 35, Cobridge Staffs Staffordshire Newcastle U Lyme
Lilly Clenlow, 17, Newcastle Staffs Staffordshire Newcastle U Lyme Apprentice Tile Maker
William Clenlow, 15, Bagillt North Wales Staffordshire Newcastle U Lyme Labourer At Brickyard
Sarah Clenlow, 11, Newcastle Staffs Staffordshire Newcastle U Lyme
Samuel Clenlow, 5, Newcastle Staffs St;
