    Default Professional Cricketer

    Hi

Can anyone tell me how I can find out about Frederick William Newman who was married to my great Aunt Louisa (Adey). 1891 census (Wiltshire) shows his occupation as Cricketer and 1901 census (Wiltshire) shows Professional Cricketer. I have no idea who he played for.

He was born 1857 Westbury, Wiltshire and married 31 Oct 1882 in Westbury, Wilts.

    Any info would be appreciated

Wisden's Cricketing Almanac appears to have searchable editions back to 1864 (scroll to bottom of page) at

    although I haven't tried them!

Thanks Sue. This site could be useful if I can determine when Frederick died and then may be able to find his obituary year. Will keep on searching!!

    Hi
Many thanks. I think this is the right F Newman. Will continue to try and find a profile/photo of him or the team
