    Unhappy BELLIS from Widnes, post 1901

    Hi,
    I've been researching my tree for about seven years and i'm pretty conversant with all the pre 1901 stuff and the GRO, but i have a Great Aunt and a Great Uncle who just seem to have disappeared after 1901. The details are as follows;

    Arthur BELLIS born 1st Qtr 1875 Widnes, Lancashire
    Anne Maria BELLIS born 4th Qtr 1875 Widnes Lancashire

    In 1901 both were living at 25 Elliot Street, Widnes with their father, Josiah, who died later that year post-Census.

    After this point there is no record of a Marriage or a Death or any emigration record that i can find for these two. I thought of looking for maybe a prison record, but as these are closed for 100 years i thought it unlikely i would have any joy there. I have been right through the CWGC site and i have some ancestors who are listed there, but not these two.

    I have traced all other siblings of this pair, but am at a loss as to where to try next.
    Has anybody got any ideas?
    Paul

    You need to get in touch with Wigan Heritage Centre,the URL is on either of my links pages. The first thing you can do it to find out how long after 1901 they lived at Elliot St .If they survive, rate books or electoral rolls can be searched . Failing that you could look at trade directories.

    Hi, I have traced Henry. He married Ada P Wildish and ended up in Kent, where he died in 1941. Thanks

    Hi SBSFamilyHistory,
    The problem with the Annie Maria Record is that she was single and living at home in 1901. Arthur had no middle name, but i guess he could have moved to the manchester area, so i will look into that, thankyou.
