If you do a Google search for "Castle Hedingham Parish Records" (with the quote marks) you will find that they are available to download as Excel files.

Rist family
Hi Alun,
You seem to have a lot of information already so I will not list all the census information unless you ask. Basically what you seem to be asking is whather the two wives of your ancestor are sisters?
Well it seems William J Rist married Mary Williams in 1846 in Gloustershire and Catherine Williams in Oct/Dec 1867 (not 1868 as you stated) in Bedwelty Monmouthshire, but by 1861 Catherine already appears on the census as 'wife' of William.
In 1851 William is in Aberystruth Monmouthshire Wales with his wife Mary aged 33 giving her birthplace as Almey, Herefordshire. (I suggest this is probably Almeley) In Oct/Dec 1852 a Mary Rist is registered dead at Abergavenny, the probable first wife.
Catherine's age varies greatly on the censuses but it would seem she was born about 1831. In 1881 there is a Thomas Williams living with William & Catherine Rist, it states brother so I assume he must be Catherine's brother. This Thomas gives his birthplace as Herefordshire and Catherine does on every census although the places vary. She states Kington Herefordshire as her main place of birth. It is worth noting this is very close to Almeley the probable place of Mary's birth. I assume you have both marriage certificates and if the father is given as Richard Williams, Maltster on both the likeihood of the two wives being sisters is very high.
One small spanner in the works. The 1841 census shows Catherine Williams 10 & Thomas Williams 15 living with Hugh & Margaret Williams in Bedwelty and not born in that county. The likeIhood here is that Hugh is the father, (no family relationships given in 1841) and if your Catherine was the daughter of a Richard, then you can eliminate this family.
Cheers

Going farther back.
Hi Alun,
Ok you need to do what Hughar suggests. Type "Castle Hedingham Parish Records" (include quotation marks) into google search box and click search.
Select from the choices that appear on your screen -Castle Hedingham Parish Records. (It states after- which can be opened by excel) (don't panic at this Alun!) This will probably be the third option down. Click here and it will give you the option to open file, click open and you should be on the site. Select what you want to look at ie Baptisms 1813-1839 and click on this. It will list the baptisms in that parish and you should find the Rist family. You should find William's parents baptising other children but William looks to have been omitted but there is a gap where should be!
Good luck and have fun.
Jeremy
