On my Grandads wedding certificate its got his job down as a Oridinace Artificer R.N. it might sound like a stupid question but does anyone know what it might be doing??

An Ordnance Artificer checks, maintains etc the ordnance - i.e guns, shells, mines and other such equipment. He would also deal with the storage of those items.
The R.N as you probably know is the Royal Navy.
