I'm not sure where to put this message but I hope someone can help.
I subscribe to British Origins and have been looking at London Apprentices. I have tried to find some indication of how to interpret the layout but without success. An example .......
3/98..............Presumably an identification number for the record
1714.............The year ?
BOOT............Surname
Jn.................John Name of apprentice ?
Obadiah.........Name of Father ?
Higham Derby..Residence
Vict...............Victualler Father's occupation ?
Jn Talbutt.......Master ?
Cit & Hab........No idea what this is
£12................Cost of apprenticeship ?
Please, help, am I correct ? This is definitely my family and if my reading is correct Obadiah apprenticed two sons and a grandson in London. I have had another thread concerning a possible marriage in London of the other son, also Obadiah.

Thank you so much, Karen, exactly what I wanted to know and my guesses were almost spot on but I needed the confirmation. I have used TNA before, but not found this particular link.
