    Default Marriage Lookup

Has anyone access to the Sibford Parish Records, I am trying to find any details of the marriage of Dorcas Rymell and Edward Scruby in 1866 Edward was from Sibford Ferris and Dorcas from Brailes but they were married in the Banbury registration district.
    Many thanks

Sibford is on CD BAN03 from the OFHS.

    The entry reads:
    31 Jan 1866 -
SCRUBY, Edward, 20, bach, lab, SF, nullius filia
xRIMELL Dorcas, 21, spin, SF, d Willliam, lab

And here's a good reason to recommend buying the PRs -
the previous entry in the register, a month earlier, of Joshua LINES to Mary Ann RIMELL, has your couple as the two witnesses.

Does the website show CD coverage for a parish in terms of events and periods (eg C 1840-1973, M 1841-1976, banns 1841-1970, B 1840-1918)?

I'm might be tempted by some of the CDs but I'm not buying a pig in a poke and I'm not so tempted that I have any intention of asking!

    Peter -

By coverage I meant what parishes are on CD (most) and which are on fiche only.

Date coverage of OFHS transcripts is mostly up to the 20th century, and is given in detail in the publication "Oxfordshire Parish Registers & Bishop's Transcripts"

To give you an example, the dates on the transcripts of the CD containing Sibford, BAN03, are:

    ALKERTON Baptisms 1544 to 1986, Marriages 1556 to 1975, Burials 1544 to 1986
    BROUGHTON Baptisms 1683 to 1893, Marriages 1688 to 1862, Burials 1683 to 1881
CLAYDON Baptisms, Marriages & Burials 1569 to 1999
    DRAYTON Baptisms 1577 to 1965, Marriages 1578 to 1837, Burials 1577 to 1987
    HANWELL Baptisms 1586 to 1930, Marriages 1586 to 1991, Burials 1586 to 1991
    HOOK NORTON Baptisms 1550 to 1995, Marriages 1669 to 1979, Burials 1643 to 1982
HOOK NORTON Baptist Chapel Births 1772 to 1837, Marriages 1844 to 1877, Deaths 1841 to 1856
    HORLEY Baptisms 1539 to 1992, Marriages 1538 to 1992, Burials 1539 to 1968
    HORNTON Baptisms 1703 to 1992, Marriages 1723 to 1990, Burials 1703 to 1992
    SHENNINGTON Baptisms 1613 to 1999, Marriages 1613 to 1990, Burials 1613 to 2000
    SHUTFORD Baptisms 1698 to 1875, Marriages 1702 to 1978, Burials 1699 to 1921
    SIBFORD Baptisms 1840 to 1973, Marriages 1841 to 1976, Burials 1840 to 1918
    SWALCLIFFE Baptisms 1558 to 1924, Marriages 1567 to 1975, Burials 1577 to 1993
    WARDINGTON Baptisms 1572 to 1967, Marriages 1571 to 1978, Burials 1566 to 1969

Banns are included where the banns book survives.

    Wendy
    Thank you for looking,
I was hoping to find Edward's father but looks like he was illegitimate.
I will look into the cd collections but my families moved around so much I fear the cost would be too great.
