I am looking for the marriage details - Fathers & Witnesses etc - for the marriage of BURCHALL (or Birchall?) William and HOLLICK Sarah A @ Denton, St Lawrence Tameside Lancs BMD Ref: CE9/1/186 in 1882

This would make an Australian Lady very very Happy!

    Cheers

Hi! The parents of Sarah Ann Hollick were John and Elizabeth (née Dewick).
John was baptised on 5 Nov 1837 (probably at Haversham, Bucks) and they married on 7 Jan 1862 at Haversham.
John's parents were James and Elizabeth (née Harrison). James was baptised at Haversham on 21 Sept 1803. James' parents were William and Sarah (née Stones).
John married three times - Elizabeth was his first wife.
In the 1881 census James (then age 81 and widowed) was living with John and his family at 52 Wilton Street, Denton, Lancs. He died of a fall in 1883.
Can't help you with anyone else!

Exclamation Thanx Pollux ~ RIP Ann

    HI Pollux

Can I say a BIG thankyou.....................But at the same time I am really spooked by your reply!

My original post was in March 2007 when I was trying to solve a problem for a lady in Australia who was looking for her Birchall ancestors in the Manchester Area.

This morning, I received an e-mail from one of her relatives informing me that she died two days ago, sad news indeed, but spooky that you replied with the answers she had been looking for for so long. RIP Ann XX

    Thanks
    Jan

    Hello

I live not far from there. I am in the next town. Next time i'm in that location I will see what I can find. St Lawrence's is a very well known church. Black and white mock tudor style.

Funny!, my sister is getting married in November and is marrying David Birchall. They live in Denton
    Regards
    Donna
