    Default Dartnall

I have birth & death certificates for twin born to my Nan (Julia McCarthy nee Barnes), in 1909 it shows a A Dartnall present at birth & death they died age 2 hours now on the death is gives A Dartnall as aunt ( i guess they do mean to the children who died).
I did a search & found a marriage for a Samuel John Dartnall in Pancras March 1rt 1909 one of the names is a Alice Barnes & my Nan had a sister Alice so does this ring any bells Alice's parents were James & Hannah Barnes (nee Pettitt also know as Poulter, she was a widow when marrying James so was a Merkin)
On searching i have found on the 1881 census a 2 year old Samuel J Dartnall in London, he shows up on other ones but i don't have access to them

    Default Dartnall, 1891 Census

    Hi.

Maybe this is the family you are looking for.

    RG12/608 folio 35, page 34.

Thomas Dartnall, 47, born Kingston, Surrey.
    Elizabeth 53,
    Sarah 20,
    Richard 16,
    Samuel 12,
    Jacob 10,

    Living in Kingston, Surrey.

    RG13/563, folio 175, page 32, 1901 Census.

Samuel is a patient in kidbroke hospital, I think maybe that he was wounded
in the 14/18 war as he is listed as a private in the 10th Hussars, and all the rest of the men in the hospital are soldiers as well.

If you want any more help just give me a call.

    Regards Tom.

    Hi Tom
I think this could be the person, i will be sending for the marriage certificate, you say about him being wounded in WW1 where did you see this info, the fact he in hospital in 1901 would suggest that he is either ill or if he is wounded it be from a different conflict can't remember when the Boar War finished.
Do you have a connection to the family or just being a very good Samaritan
