    Default Ordering baptism certificates?

I'm getting married soon so today I went about ordering our baptism cert and it got me thinking. Can we do that for baptisms that are age old. Eg. 1700-1837????????????

Yes. A "certificate" being a certified copy of an entry in a baptism register. See the website of almost any CRO or just Google on something like "certified copy" baptism.

It just sounds to me like a nice little earner.

And what on earth would be the point of it? All you want is to know what the entry says and to have seen it with your own eyes. A photocopy is a nice extra but you don't need anyone else to certify it for you!
