Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me. I deleted my cookies on my computer to save some space now I cant get into scotlands people website anymore. Is this because of the cookies or is the website down?

It's working OK here - I don't use it that often, don't have any credits on it at present, but kept a note of my username and password from the last time I used it and have just logged in successfully.

Two quick thoughts ...
1) Deleting cookies shouldn't affect your ability to get to the site, but in case you've bookmarked a page within the site that is somehow affected (I don't see how, but you never know), make sure you're using the address for the main page:
2) From comments a day or so ago from other Australian members, it seems that certain sites over here were a problem for you over there because of a damaged undersea cable. I would have thought that by now any ISPs affected would have sorted out a different route, but I suppose it's a possibility, so unless it's something you desperately need, patience might be the answer. An update on the situation from any clued-up Aussie members reading this might clarify things.

I can get the page to open okay.
Check your security settings - perhaps since you deleted the cookies your computer no longer recognises that it is a site you use. As soon as the page starts to load, it would be attempting to send cookies to your computer to see if it knows you - your computer could then refuse it access altogether if your settings are too high. (I think tha tis how it works
)
What sort of message do you get?
As Myth says - it does sound like you might have bookmarked a page that is no longer there.

Thanks Christine and Mythology. I keep getting a message that the website is unavailable and that I need to adjust my settings which I have tried to do. I have changed about everything I can think of but not being a computer whiz I have probably missed something. I have not bookmarked that page at all so it cant be that. I will email scotlands people and see if they can help.
Thanks again

Its back, I can now look at scotlands people again. It must have been a server problem as the email I sent them came back as a server error.
