Edward Bunn was born c.1805 Holt,Norfolk (Erpingham Reg.Dist.)
According to information I have his parents were Edward Bunn or Bone & Charlotte Girdlestone.
I do know that the Bunn family are sometimes recorded under the name Bone but I presume this is the interpretation of enumerators.
Most of the Bunns came from Holt but I do not know about the Girdlestones.
I am trying to find dates, parents etc.In fact anything anyone can tell me.
Cheers

We have an index to some records on the Norfolk Transcription Archive
http://www.genealogy.doun.org/transcriptions/index.php
This includes Holt baptisms for the period in which you are interested. There are also a couple of photos and an index to the very interesting book, 'On the Parish, Recorded Lives of the poor of Holt and district 1780-1835'

Thank you very much Geoffers for sending me this info.
I have just had a quick look at the website mentioned & I am sure it will be of great help to me,not only with the above family names, but also some others I have.
Will have a proper look when I come back from finishing off my christmas shopping.
In the meantime

Geoffers,
Thank you very much for directing me to the Norfolk Transcription Archive.
It has been better than opening my Christmas parcels,I have found that much about my ancestors. Not only the one's above but quite a few more.
It is certainly going to keep me busy for a while.
Cheers & Best Wishes for 2007

Hi bettyespana,
I have just joined this forum and found your post. I am also interested in William Girdlestone 1758. His first wife was Anne Browne, but this was her second marriage, as shown in the Parish Register for St. Peter Mancroft.
On the baptism of their son George on 2 Apr 1786, it states, George, son of William and Ann Girdlestone, Brown, widow, before Balder? The writing is not too clear.
I am descended from their son William, who is supposed to be born in 1781. I have checked the Baptism records in Holt, Kelling and Salthouse to no avail. William (1758) was the Rector of Kelling and Salthouse at the time, so I wondered if William was baptised there, but no luck so far.
I am aslo somewhat confused by the marriage of William to Elizabeth Jessup Ewin, as I cannot find a marriage for them or a death for Ann. Also their son, William Ewin is said to have been born in 1785, when Ann was definately alive. There is a baptism for him on the IGI, but I cannot find it in the Parish Register.
Can you give me any help?
Glyn
