I'm looking the burial of my great grandfather, JAMES MALSON, who died in the Dec qtr. of 1903. Thought to be at Astley Abbotts at the time of his death so, perhaps, St. Calixthus is a good bet.

    Can you help?

    Regards,

    David Hankey

    Hi David,

Although a headstone for James MALSON was recorded when the monumental inscriptions were compiled in 1984, I couldn't find it yesterday at the location indicated on the plan.
However, just finding the headstone wouldn't confirm he was 'your' James.
Allegedly the inscription only stated "In Loving Memory of James MALSON" [top of monument missing]

    David,

I've found a full detailed report of the Inquest on James MALSON, age 51.

Also two full detailed Court cases relating to the death.

I'll post copies as soon as possible.

    Gwynne.

    Hi there Bristol L H.
I'm researching the Cochranes (aka Cochran) who were closely related to Alexander Brodie, owner of the Calcutts works at the end of the 18th century.
I know Thomas Cochrane was buried at the Red church in Jackfield in 1833 and that his wife Lillias had died in Linley in 1825/26 ad their son Robert in Linley in 1827.

Would you be so kind as to let me know if you have MI's for them and indeed for other Cochrane's/Brodies in Jackfield/Linley/Broseley between the 1790's and 1840's or later.

Look forward to hearing from you.
