I am looking for information on SS Cliffmore which was shipwrecked perhaps 1916?My great great grandfather was a steward on this vessel. His name was Robert Cragg. The port he enrolled from was Belfast, although he was born in Lancaster.

The small steamer Cliffmore, of Belfast, from Grangemouth to Erith with a cargo of coal was in collision with the Oscar lighthouse in the Firth of Forth during dense fog and sank in deep water. The crew were saved.

Thank you Peter Goodey. I have found out the SS Cliffmore, built in 1880 for the Antrim Iron Ore Company, sank in Belfast Lough after a collision with another local collier.the ss Eveleen on the 29th January 1914. She was raised and sold to the Cliffburn ss co. Samuel Stewart managers of Belfast being renamed Cliffmore. She had another mishap in may 1924 when she went aground in the Firth of Forth.Again she was refloated later sold in 1925 to shipbreakers
