i am looking for information on my grandmother rosa aldred,or alfred(on some certs) born around christchurch?1890s?or 1900s father is cowie any infirmation helpfull ,she married lyfell sabelberg in victoria australia 1920s,any of her family in new zealand imformation appreciated.

Have you confirmed her parents name with her marriage certificate? as her death index entry states her parents to be Thomas COWIE and Lottie ALDRED.

dear christine,thank you ,once again ,i am sorry if iam still replying in the wrong forum,to you,i am still waiting for the marriage certificate ,from my cousin ,but ican still tell you ,that my great grand parents were not married, and yes thomas cowie was her father and lottie aldred was her mother,i know little about either family apart from some oral history and family photos,i know my grand mother was born in new zealand,and then moved to either tasmania or victoria the latter where she married, regards david
