If anyone has access to the above Censuses, I'd be very grateful for a look-up of two familes living in Wooburn.
In March 1862, Edwin GARDENER married Lydia BARNETT at the Parish Church, both their residences at the time of this marriage are listed as just Wooburn, his Father is named as John, her Father is named as William. Edwin and Lydia left the County in 1863, but his Father was still there in 1881:
John GARDNER Head M Male 71 Horton, Buckingham, Ginger Beer Manfr.
Rebecca GARDNER Wife M Female 70 Wycombe, Buckingham

Hello Doug,
What a lovely surprise when I checked in this morning (couldn't get back again yesterday
)
Thankyou so much for looking for me and the success with the Gardener family, you've made my day!
I've filed this thread in my Surname Interests folder, so I'll take you up on your kind offer of trying to find the BARNETT's for me in a couple of months or so.
Best Wishes,
Diane

Hi Diane,
No need to wait that long. Once the information is there the images tend to appear soon after. And it is no hardship to search for them - sometimes I just love computers.
Doug.

Hi Doug,
May I ask you for a further look-up please? I bought the 1851 Census for the Reg. District of Wycombe and found the BARNETT's on it (yippee!)
Lydia was 9 and living with Parents William and Hannah, and someone called Sarah WARRICK and hubby ...... I wondered if this Sarah was her sister as she was born at Wooburn ..... there's no relationship to Head of household listed for her.
I've just found the hubby in 1881 living at Flackwell Heath, Wycombe and he's a widower, but think Sarah was Lydia's sister, as one of the daughter's in 1881 is called Lydia!
I'm wondering if Sarah was still alive in 1871?

Thanks a lot.Best Wishes,

Hello Trish,
Thankyou so much for the look-up, it was very kind of you to do it for me, nice to find that Sarah was still alive then.

They were living in Bourne End, Wooburn in 1851.
Does the 1891 Census have a search by forename and birthplace? I cannot find Edwin & Lydia Gardener in this census, even though friends have searched their addresses in 1881 and 1901 on their CD's. On these two censuses, their names, ages and birthplaces are up the wall, but they were definitely living in Paddington in 1901.
If a search is possible, could you try for Lydia/Eldia b. 1841-1842 with birthplaces of Wooburn/Wycombe/Buckinghamshire, also Marylebone and Paddington as she states on the 1881 and 1901 censuses respectively please?Best Wishes,
Diane
