    How can i find out about Mathew he was engine driver possibly in middlesborough he was born in carsile and moved with his parents to middlesborough i,m stuck his parents were francis and mary scott from scotland hope some one can help

    only date is his birth date which is 5/10/1851....parents francis and mary scott hope this helps

    He seems to be living with his parents in 1881 in Ormesby, Yorkshire.
    Matthew is listed as a Widower, aged 30.

    Have a look at the 1881 census over on the Familysearch page or Ancestry, using Matthew Scott and his DOB as search terms..

    Relevant data is in RG11 Piece 4861 Folio 78 Page 37

    Hopefully that will be of use. Several family members listed as well as his parents.
