    Question 1871 & 1891 Lookup please

Hi forumites - I came across two VALLIS family strays in the 1901 Census in Oxon and I have been unable to place/connect either of them.

Alfred Edward (Edwin?) Vallis b 3Q 1869 in Hackney, London and married to Sarah Elizabeth (nee Cooper) b1877 Bulwell, Nottinghamshire. although I have 2 Alfred's in 1881 Census - one in Poplar, London and one in St George Hanover Sq, Middlesex both born within a few years of each other. Could I ask if an 1871 lookup has any other clues/details please?

Florence Lizzie Vallis b 1878 (3Q 1878 Headington 3a 676) - she is living in household of her grandparents in 1881 (RG11/1496 Folio/38 Page/1) and in 1901 she is living with her grandmother Eliza (Source RG13/1378 Folio 49 Page 21) but I havn't managed to find any info on who her parents possibly are - without going for her cert - of course in 1891 she may still be living with her grandparents?

    TIA - HiFly

    Default 1871

There are about 3 families in Headington, Oxfordshire in the 1871 census.
    Class: RG10; Piece: 1434; Folio: 58; Page: 44; GSU roll: 828779.
    Class: RG10; Piece: 1434; Folio: 37; Page: 1; GSU roll: 828779.
    Class: RG10; Piece: 1434; Folio: 50; Page: 28; GSU roll: 828779.
But sorry Florence is not one of them. Could she be younger than you thought and not born until after 2/4/1871?

    Default Thank You!!!

Thank you Annie - Both lookups allowed me to verify & connect for definite one of the stray's and fill a few minor gaps. Mutley - thanks 2 u also.

Re Florence...didn't solve who's child it was. Am assuming that as she stayed with g/parents such a long time & didn't go with any of the other offspring's families that she was the issue of one of Thomas's 2 early daughters - Emily M 1857 or Eliza Sarah 1859 (guessing at mo).

Apart from Florence and a few early ones such as Paul Vallis b1743 & married 1769 to a Rose Ring (1745-1775) in Horton, Oxon - all rest of the 1700 & 1800 family members eminating from Oxon have now been 'connected' and accounted for and it looks like the connection between them all appears to rest in Hailey, Oxon....where 3 Vallis males eminate from - Thomas 1791, Samuel 1783 & James 1785.

Anyone know where BT's are for Hailey??

Thanks to anyone who assisted - happy to share a GEDCOM file around to anyone interested.
