    Smile Wilmot/Willmott Family Also Heffer

Any one out there associated with the Willmott family. Charles Willmott was born in 1810 in Grazely, he was married to Letitia. There children were Henry Ross, born 1839 (my grt grt grandfather), William born 1840, Jane born 1843, Thomas born 1847 and James born in 1852. Henry married my grt grt grandmother Mary Ann Heffer in 1861 in St Giles, Reading.

    Default Willmott/Heffer

    Hi Caz

Not sure if you have found this. Henry Ross married again in 1875 to a Jane A. Born about 1837 Canada from the 1881 census.

He married in Wokingham Dec qtr 1875

I have not been able to locate Mary Ann Heffer marriage to Henry but I did notice she was down as Mary J in 1861.

Found Henry and family in 1841, but unable to find them in 1851, I did find a death for a Annie Letitia in 1846 was this a mother or daughter.

    Default Letitia Willmott

    Caz,

Having not checked BG for some time I note your interest in a Letitia Willmott and am wondering if we have the same families. Most of my Willmott clan are listed on another thread but I have made a small amount of progress since then and found that my granddads 2 eldest sisters were Letitia Willmott b: c1880 Aldershot and Georgeanna (or Georgina) b: c1883 Drayton Beetham, Bucks. Their father was in the Royal Artillery and the 1881 census shows them in Kent, he was born in either Camberly or Sonning (near Reading). Their mother came from Bucks.

I know that the Letitia you are looking for is a couple of generations back but it is not a common name and wonder if it is a family name. This branch has been very difficult to research and any leads would be much appreciated.

    Thumbs up

    Caz,

At long last I think I have proved my link with Charles Willmott and his son James Willmott. James is the father of my grandfathers siblings, mostly the older ones but also one of the younger ones born 1899. My grandad born 1897 however has Samuel James Willmott (deceased) listed as his father and then a young sister born in 1900. Still a mystery there to be solved.

Charles wife was Letitia Glass and I have some Glass family listed below but not sure where exactly they are in the tree just yet. There is a John Glass who is the head of the household in 1891 and living with him is his 2nd cousin Georgina Willmott who is one of my grandfathers oldest siblings. Have you made any progress on the Glass or Willmott branches?

1 Charlotte Glass b: Apt 1777 Arborfield, Berks
    + ?
    2 Lydia Glass b: 1819 (possibly Charlotte Glass daughter-in-law)
    + ?
3 John Glass b: Abt 1841 Hurst, Berks (2nd cousin of Georgina Willmott)
    + Eliza b: 1841 Fulham, London
3 Mary Ann Glass b: Abt 1843 Hurst, Berks
    3 James Glass b: Abt 1842 Hurst
3 George Glass b: Abt 1847 Hurst, Berks
3 Charlotte Glass b: Abt 1849 Hurst, Berks
3 Alfred Glass b: Hurst, Berks
    2 James Glass b: 1821 Berks
    2 Sarah Glass b: 1826
