My ggg-grandmother, Sophia Spiller Smith Sutton, was the daughter of William Spiller and Sarah Spurway of Colyton. Sophia was baptized in Gittisham 22 March 1818. William was baptized 7 September 1773 in Colyton and married Sarah 24 Mar 1811 in the Church at Colyton, Devon. William died 22 Oct 1821 and Sarah continued to stay at Willhayne until her death 11 Dec 1860. While I do have some information on William's ancestors, I have not been able to identify Sarah's Spurway line nor her birth date. I've also been trying to determine if Sophia had any siblings. William and Sarah did not marry until William was 38 years of age and I was wondering if perhaps he had been married before. Would anyone have information about these two? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I live in the USA and do not have easy access to records that are not online.
