I have just started producing my family tree and my grandfather was Herbert Alan Evans (born about 1885). He married Millicent Evans formerly 'Lee', I believe from Pontesbury. My late father namely John Alan Evans (born 1916) was born at the Bath Arms in Minsterley however this has now been renovated into houses, any info on the Bath Arms would be greatly received. My father ran the Egg Packing Station in Bishops Castle until sadly he died in 1985. I wuld greatly appreciate any information on the above. Many thanks in advance.....

Evans - Minsterley & the Bath Arms
Hi Gilly
With ancestral connections to Minsterley myself, your post caught my eye.
I will send you a Private Message with a bit of information about the Bath Arms from a book called ‘The History of Minsterley’ by Miss D. T. Merry.
Regards
John

Lee and Evans, Bath Arms, Minsterley
Gilly, my grandmother was Millicent’s sister – her name was Doras (1893-1969), and they had two other sisters Madelene (1891-1995) and Grace (1897-1991). I knew Doras, Madelene and Grace very well. There were also two brothers Richard Henry (Harry) (1887-1950) and John George (Jack) (1896 - ?). Unfortunately there are inconsistences between your information and ours, and I’d like to resolve them. The main one is that the John Alan Evans brought up at the Bath Arms, became a mine manager in Africa and died in South Africa. I will send more information to you direct.

Hello Gilly and Julian
I am new to this site, and still navigating my way round it. As I said in an earlier post this morning to Gilly, I am John George (Jack) Lee's daughter. So I guess we must all be related somehow.
It would be nice to hear from you as I am in England at the moment, having recently arrived from South Africa.
Regards.

Hi Janet,
Unfortunately neither Gilly or Julian have been active on the forum since 2009 so they may not see your post. If they don't respond you could try sending a private message to them. To do this just left click on their user name and select the relevant option.

Hi Doug
Sorry to bother you with this but am having difficulty in e-mailing. I did what you suggested but there are two places where you can e-mail, it seemed - either you can e-mail selecting the Private Message option or e-mail direct. I did both but found that there was nothing in the Sent Mail Box. Could you please advise where I went wrong.
Many thanks.

Hi Janet,
For a PM, when you have selected the option scroll down to the bottom of the page. Do you have a tick in the box "Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder."? If not, the message has probably been sent but without a copy being saved.
If you do not have this enabled and wish to go to "Quick Links" just below the tree trunk, select the down arrow, select User CP, on the left look for My Settings then My Account then General Settings. Scroll down to Sent Private Messages and select the option to save. This then becomes the default for all PMs that you send.
Re emails, I don't think that a copy of a sent email is stored anywhere however I could be wrong. It is not something I have ever investigated.
