Is there any way I can find out who was living at an address in Colchester in 1966, without having to travel to the record office there to look at the electoral register. Are they online by any chance?
Regards
Pauline

Hi Pauline
A google may answer your question, but one of my first ports of call is usually the Local Studies Section of the local Reference Library. I've found that if you can be very specific with your enquiry, they will often do a look up for you. Try Essex County Council website and you should find both 'phone and e-mail details.

The number is 22, Boadicea Way and the name looks like D.M Maddivan, a female, age unknown.
If you could help, it would be wonderful, thanks for the offer

I knew a Matteson family from the road in question.....I think it would have been a higher house number though.
Maddivan is an unusual name.....Why not try posting an image to see if anyone has a different take on the handwriting?
Sorry, Al.

I've tried a couple of times but the image is not readable. It is jpeg and of a correct size so I don't know what I am doing wrong.
