    Default Benjamin Atha

I am looking for information on Benjamin Atha and his wife Martha Bleasby. I think they were both b about 1808 in Holbeck but I'm not very sure about that. I would appreciate any help

I saw these entries, too, and wondered about the name "Nancy".

Nancy is also listed as wife of Benjamin ATHA on the 1841 census. Benjamin, 30, is a "Cloth Weaver" and Nancy, 30, is a "Dressm" [Dressmaker] and their address looks like Mineveh [Street? Road?], Holbeck Ward. Both are listed as having been born in the same county. [HO107/1344/9 Folio 53 Page 19]

On the 1851 census, Benjamin, 43, is a "Hand loom weaver [Woollen Cloth]" but Nancy, 42 no longer has an occupation. Benjamin is listed as born in Holbeck and Nancy in Bothey or Betley, Staffordshire. They are living on Victoria St. in Holbeck. [HO107/2318 Folio 404 Page 5]

However, the 1861 census shows Benjamin, 54, "Woollen Cloth [Hand Loom] Weaver" married to Martha, 52 and living at No. 18 Irwin St. [Hogg's Field]. Benjamin is listed as born in Holbeck and Martha in Hunslet. [RG9/3363 Folio 125 Page 24]

Looks like Nancy must have died after 1851, but it isn't transcribed on Free BMD yet. Then Benjamin remarried before the 1861 census
