I am looking for Samuel Whiley b 1832 Lincolnshire.......immigrated to USA in the 1850's to New York and might have moved to Michigan.

Unfortunately I don't have a wife's name.......can't find a marriage......his will mentions a daughter Annis (maybe Annit) Atckinson (?) but no wife, sorry I can't help anymore than that

only one listed at born in the UK.

1841 census Friskney Lincs ref. HO107/633/14 Folio 29 Page 5
Samuel Whiley 35 Farmer
Ann Whiley 45
Samuel Whiley 9
Mary Ann Whiley 4
Eliza Whiley 1
( All born Lincolnshire)

By the 1851 census the parents are still in Friskney but only Eliza is still with them. This census states they were all born in Friskney Lincs. Samuel Whiley age 9 in 1841 does not appear on any other English census so he is likely to be your man. Incidentally I answered a request the other day for a lady named Christine who was searching for all Whileys from Friskney. If you press 'Search' and type in Whiley you will find Christines thread.
