    Hi
I would be very interested in hearing from you and I have information that I am happy to share. I don't have a lot on Fred but do have some on his siblings. I can trace the family back to Hannah Whiley m John Foster Merrill in Lincolnshire.

    Regards
    Fiona

I would love to hear from anyone whos related to FRED MERRILL, as I am also related.
John Foster Merrill was born in Thorpe in 1839 the son of Sainte Thomas Merrill and his wife Mary Foster. John Foster Merrills sister, Eliza, was my great great grandmother. She married Faulkinder Hides/Hydes of the nearby village of Addlethorpe.
Hannah Whiley is also related, her father was Michael Whiley who married Ann Grayson, and his father was William Whiley who married Betsey Whiting. In turn, his father was Samuel Whiley who married Mary Stephenson. They had another son, George Whiley, who married Susannah Crook and they were my 3 x great grandparents.

The Merrills lived at Winthorpe for generations, but later moved to Poplar Farm, Ingoldmells. The last Merrill I know of living in the area who was a definate relation, was Grenville Merrill who died in 2003 at Old Leake. He was the great grandson of William Merrill, Eliza and John Foster Merrills brother.

Fred Merrills brother, John Booth Merrill, also went to Utah, USA and some of his descendants moved to Cardston, and Calgary, Alberta.

Have loads of info on the Merrills and the Whileys to share.

    Hi Ann
Have you read "Making Tracks" by Peter Whiley. It is a record of the Whileys who came to Australia. I'm pretty sure it is still available.
