Re: Mabey of Mapperton
I am a new member, and saw today an enquiry (probably old ) re Charlotte Mabey of Mapperton. I have a transcript of Mapperton baptisms, marriages etc. Charlotte Mabey was baptised on29.7.1821 daughter of William and Sarah Mabey. She married David Wrixon, a labourer, son of Samuel Wrixon, on 29.4.1845. He was 22 and she was 22.

Geraldine,
Is this the Mapperton near Beaminster or the other Mapperton near Almer??
I am hunting for a John Hardy who was supposedly b in Mapperton abt 1790 and have found out there were two areas with the same name.

Mapperton Dorset, or Maperton Somerset
Hello Marion or 'Dorset Girl',
I have only today found your message to me of 2009 - no-one ever advised me that I had a message !
The Mapperton I was referring to was the one near Beaminster. The other place is actually spelled 'Maperton'
If you would like to correspond further perhaps it would be better to write to me direct: ggasparelli AT aol DOT com
as it's so complicated trying to carry on a 'conversation' through one of these sites. I don't have the baptisms for Maperton, but I think I have them for Mapperton in Dorset.
