A quick Google for "mirar toolbar" will inform you that it is not something you would want on your machine
At a guess, Spybot S&D will remove it. Some anti virus programs may also remove it apparently. Whichever tool you use, make sure it is up to date with all the latest definitions. Often, when something like this pops up, you will have lots more unwanted junk which does not advertise its presence.

Just checked and Spybot does remove Mirar.

By the way, if using XP and Spybot or an anti virus program pick up anything, then turn off system restore and run the program again. The system restore locks the backup copy of your Windows - including the nicely backed up copy of any problem! Turning it off allows av programs etc to scan the resotration points and remove issues from there as well. Otherwise, the problem will simply return from within the backup copy. Once all is well, system restore can be turned back on

Also run the PC in 'safe' mode, with internet disconnected while searching for and removing such programs (F8 during startup to enter 'safe')

    Hi MarkJ

    I downloaded SpyBotsd14.exe ..... for Free

Took a good while to do a total scan of 39550 items. Found 106 'problem' items
Decided to remove the lot. Result was: removed 104. The other 2 could not be removed. There were 11 Mirar items. These were cleared and now ALL LOOKS WELL.

    Many thanks for the tip.

    Hi Bill,
Most of the problems will be tracking cookies and other minor problems I expect, but its quite an effective tool at removing many of the more serious malware too
Glad the Mirar issue seems to be gone.
