Any information about a Thomas Gard, clown and equestrian early to mid 1800s would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Clarrie, a search of the 1851 census brings up 22 Thomas GARDs. Any idea where in England or Wales or ? your Thomas may have lived?

    Arrow Thomas Gard - Clown

Hi everyone. Thanks for your information.

Unfortunately, I forgot to add a date to my original message.

Thomas was in Australia before 1851 British Census but he was an accomplished clown and equestrian with circus' travelling in Australia during the 1840s and we have wondered if he was involved with carnivals, circus work etc. in England or Ireland before he came to Australia. He was born 1823 in Cork apparently.
