griffith family in lambeth

in the 1841 census my great grandfather is living with his maternal grandmother elizabeth davis and siblings in bond street [off the waterloo rd]
his father is not there but his name was daniel griffith [born c.1803 bristol]he turns up in 1851 with the 3 youngest children in the finsbury area.mum charlotte davies died in 1840
I would love to know what happened to the oldest 2 boys
JOSEPH GRIFFITH born c. 1827
DANIEL GRIFFITH born c, 1829
in 1861 there is a joseph married to a louisa but i can find no trace of a marriage in free bmd and in 1891 there is a joseph in the lambeth workhouse, but nothing between these years.
Is anyone researching this family or can throw any light
