George Harries
Hi,
I can see where you have gained your information from and why the questions you ask have arisen. George & Charlotte Harries are on the 1871 census with the 4 daughters you mention at Robeston West and it gives George's birthplace as Solva, Pembs. I wonder then if you have not found them on the 1861 census at RG9/4162 Folio 39 Page 5. Here it states George's birthplace as Whitechurch but this will almost definately be Whitchurch which is very close to Solva. They have 3 children with them, non of which appear with them on the 1871 census- Viz Evelyn M M aged 4 born Haverfordwest, Charles H aged 2 born Llanrian (Pembs) & Emma aged 1 month born Haverfordwest. They are in Robeston West in 1861 too. In response to your question as to the whereabouts of Robeston West, it is about 2 miles north of Milford Haven and about 20 miles from Solva. I do hope this helps you with your research.
Cheers, Jeremy.

George's Parents
Hi again,
I have looked into George's parentage and I hope you will agree with the following information:-
John Harding Harries & his wife Martha baptise the following children at Whitchurch Pembs
George 18 Nov 1818
Mary 25 Jan 1820
Elizabeth 13 Dec 1820
Jane 26 Dec 1822
Samuel 11 Dec 1825
If you look at the 1851 census for Llanrian Pembs. HO107/2479 Folio 298 Page 25 you will find this family. It states the father John as a Magistrate and Land Proprietor and gives birth place for both John & Martha (parents) as St. Davids. George, Elizabeth & Jane and still unmarried are with them. (I think it is probable that Mary died in infancy due to the close baptismal date of the next child but it is possible she could have married or left home by then. No mention of Samuel) Note that Llanrian is where George & Charlotte state their son Charles was born on 1861 census and it also gives George's occupation as Land Proprietor.
Cheers Jeremy

Jeremy,
Any sign of the three children anywhere else in later census?
Perhaps with the grandparents???
