    Default PARTRIDGE/WRIGHT - Woburn

WILLIAM PARTRIDGE married MARY WRIGHT at Woburn on 2nd Oct 1770.
Can anyone tell me whether there were any children of the union?
If so, was there a WILLIAM among them, born about 1783, who could have been the father of WILLIAM WRIGHT PARTRIDGE, son of William and Elizabeth, christened St PETER's, BEDFORD on 19th Jan 1813?
Many thanks for any information. FredP.

Assuming this is still relevant, Looking at Northants strays website, it lists a William Partridge of Northampton All Saints who married Mary Wright at Woburn in 1770. --- then later William Wright Partridge again of Northampton All Saints marries Mary Hillier on 18/02/1833 in Buckingham.

got to be a link ! regards John Partridge Bedford

Default William Partridge & Mary Wright

    Thanks, John.
It would seem that my g-g-grandfather William Partridge may be a son of this couple. I will have to try and get access to the Northampton All Saints and Woburn parish records to see if I can discover where and exactly when he was born.
William Wright Partridge was his son born in Bedford before he moved to Buckingham where his other two sons were born.
I knew WWP's marriage details, and assumed he had been apprenticed in Northampton. He lived in Aylesbury and I have information about his descendents.
Let me know if you are connected to this family as there are probably other matters that will interest you.

    Default Partridge

Hello Fred, I have no idea if my covey are in fact linked with this William Wright P , I came across the name by chance & remembered I had read your posting. Also I've posted to bring a response from you, in order that you may tell me more, if you have any links to Partridges of Sharnbrook, Bletsoe, Riseleigh, Thurleigh or any North Beds villages. I cannot make a link yet to those of Poddington or even further afield to Bozeat.

    regards John

    Hello again John.
Can you please tell me how to get on to the Northants Strays Index? If the William Partridge who married in Woburn had Northampton connections he may be the father of the one I am looking for. I knew of the marriage but did not know where he came from.
There were two other William Partridges who married in Bedford in 1806. One married Elizabeth Makeham who came from Biddenham, but after some research I have concluded this is unlikely to be the mother of William Wright Partridge. The other married Elizabeth Drewett about whom I can discover nothing, unless she is the one born in Weybridge, Surrey about the right date - 1783/4.
I also had some correspondance some time ago about Partridges in Bletsoe, which I decided had nothing to do with my family. If I can look it up I will let you have any information that may be useful to you.
    Regards FredP.

    Default Partridges in Bletsoe

    Hi John,
Here are some details I have dredged up regarding Partridges who I decided were not part of my family, but may be of yours. All dates are as given to me and unchecked.
Thomas Partridge, b Sharnbrook 1757, baptised 30/12/1764, d Bletsoe 1819. He married Martha Swannell, b Pavenham 1761. She died 1787.
    They had 3 children - Mary b 1781, William b 1785, John b 1786.
His 2nd wife was Elizabeth White, b Bletsoe 1769. They married in Bletsoe 27/12/1790, and had the following children -
    Jonathon b 1791; Richard 1792 - 1870; Elizabeth 1794 - 1802; Thomas 1796 - 1863; Joseph 1796 - 1830; George 1799 - 1865; Samuel b 1802; Charles 1806 - 1884; Robert 1807 - 1883.
Most of these had a lot of children themselves, so if any of Elizabeth's family are of interest to you I can probably supply further information - there's too much to include in one message. I don't think I have much about Martha's off-spring, but I did get a little from another source which I will have to delve even deeper for.
Hope some of this is of help. FredP.

    JPBeds,

I have an interest in the Felmersham, Sharnbrook area, I have an Edward Partridge who married a Mabel Summerlin/g, (born 1898 Felmersham) - do you happen to have this couple in your tree.

    Default Partridges of Bedford

Hello FredP; Thanks - that Thomas P is my 3x G-grandfather via is 2nd wife Elizabeth, I am direct line from their son Richard b 1792. I have details of all their children, plus some of the 3 children of Thomas & Martha. The reason why you don't have a death date for Samuel might be because he was shipped off to Tasmania in 1843. I have too received from other sources, some from other descendants from the same family. I have my tree details on Genes ReUnited if anyone is interested.

    regards John
