    Default re Horatio Penistone

    Hi Colin

There used to be an Horatio Penistone live in East Cowick. He lived at number 2 main road. His wife was called Annie. I was brought up that these were no relation to me. They probably were but can you enlighten me as to who their parents were. Both Horatio and Annie are buried in East Cowick churchyard

    Thanks SandraChris

    Default horatio Penistone

    Hi Colin

I have discovered 2 Charles Penistones so far. One was Charles born in 1851. His father was Thomas Penistone my great great grandads brother. The other Charles was born in 1823 to Robert Penistone my great great great grandad. Are any of these Horatios realatives?

    thanks

    Sandrachris

    Default Penistones from Cowick

    Hi Sandrachris and Colin

My great great grandparents were Charles Henry Penistone and Eliza Ann Whitton - their daughter Eva married John Walton and my grandad (their son) was Thomas Henry Walton.

    Default Pennistons in Cowick

I have been trying to find out what happened to the children of William Penniston and Ann Sollitt (married Jan 1776 in Snaith). They had at least Elizabeth (1777), Ann (1779) and Robert (1781). William was a bricklayer. Does anyone know this family?

    Thanks in advance
    Alan

I haven't seen a mention of Alfred's wife but according to the 1911 Census for Snaith Road, Rawcliffe (RG14PN28299 RG78PN1618 RD514 SD3 ED7 SN2) her name was Edith and she was born in Rawcliffe about 1886. They had been married 3 months and had no children.
A look at the GRO Marriage Index shows Edith BELL on the same page. Ref: Dec 1910 Goole District Vol 9c Page 1616
