    1881 Canada census:

John REDFORD M Male English 52 England Farmer Weslyan Methodist
Sarah REDFORD M Female English 53 England Weslyan Methodist
Maria REDFORD Female English 20 England Weslyan Methodist
Sarah REDFORD Female English 18 England Weslyan Methodist
Jane REDFORD Female English 16 England Weslyan Methodist
John REDFORD Male English 13 England Weslyan Methodist
Margaret REDFORD Female English 10 England Weslyan Methodist

    Source Information:
Census Place Bentinck, Grey South, Ontario
    Family History Library Film 1375896
    NA Film Number C-13260
    District 154
    Sub-district B
    Division 2
    Page Number 9
    Household Number 33

So it looks like John, at least, came over in 1871, since daughter Margaret was born in 1870-71 in England, and John is head of household in the 1871 Canada census.

    same year (1881, Canada):

Thomas REDFORD M Male English 57 England Farmer Weslyan Methodist
Sarah REDFORD M Female English 52 England Weslyan Methodist
George REDFORD Male English 21 O <Ontario> Farmer Weslyan Methodist
Alfred REDFORD Male English 17 O <Ontario> Farmer Weslyan Methodist
Ann Maria REDFORD Female English 15 O <Ontario> Weslyan Methodist
James REDFORD Male English 13 O <Ontario> Weslyan Methodist

    Source Information:
Census Place Bentinck, Grey South, Ontario
    Family History Library Film 1375896
    NA Film Number C-13260
    District 154
    Sub-district B
    Division 2
    Page Number 2
    Household Number 5

So, Thomas' son George was born in Ontario in 1860, meaning Thomas came over between the 1851 England census and 1860 when George was born.

William married in Ontario before Jane was born, so before 1862. But he's not in the 1851 England census, so...

Again, not what you asked for, but may help you locate Stephen's marriage, and marriage date may further limit search for immigration date:

4700-75 (Grey Co) REDFORD, Martha, f, Oct 14, 1875; father - Stephen REDFORD, farmer; mother - Sarah SELLERS, infm - father, Bentinck Twp

Martha's birth lists her mother's maiden name...

William married in 1860 in Peel County at the age of 27. Copies of the record are available from the Marriage Registers of Ontario, Canada (1858-1869) -- PEEL COUNTY. Order online: https://www.ingeneas.com/ingeneas/index.html

Stephen Redford was the eldest son of Thomas (5 brothers). The 1881 census actually shows him being born in Ontario. I have substantial information on the family history. Just trying to nail down arrival dates.
    Thanks again for your interest.

    Rob,

The 1901 census gives the date of immigration to Canada in column 12. Unfortunately, they are not searchable by surname, only by place. Which you know to be Bentinck, Grey, Ontario. Use this link: https://data4.collectionscanada.ca/ne...e.html&r=0&f=S
    - there are 18 groups of images to search, some having just 2 - 4 sets of images and some having 13 or 16. If any of the brothers were still living there in 1901, perhaps with patience you can find the year, at least.
