John Ruff age 1 in 1881

I have searched for birth in "1837" back to 1879 can't be found
I have found birth in IGI records as 1880 Battersea Parish Surrey
Desperate to get original birth cert and find death cert.
Also searched 1891 census and 1901 census no luck there.
Please can anyone help?

Do you have any other information that may help someone help you -- such as John's parents' or siblings' names? His children? Anything else? Have you tried searching for variations of RUFF or for matches that are close in age?

I note from the details the father was a carter, had the family moved to Battersea by 1880 or were they still resident in Worthing?
If the latter he may be registered there, even though that would not be the correct procedure.
Similarly his mother is from St. Lukes, Middlesex, did she drop over to visit her mum and register the birth there?

There is a John RUFF born in St. Lukes have you ruled him out?
