Hello
Please can anybody help me?
I am looking for the Marriage of James Want which i think was in 1834 in Church Oakley to Fanny Harfield. If anyone has access to the said registers i would be grateful if you could check if this is correct.
I am also looking for the death of James which could be prior to 1841 as the census says he was not with fanny at this time.
yours hopefully
peter

Hi Peter,
James Want married Fanny Harfield at Church Oakley on 14 March 1816 by banns with consent of parents. Marriage was performed by Curate Wm Bainbridge witnessed by George Jones & Charlotte Bowley.
Ref: Church Oakley Parish Register HRO 74M72 PR3 mf5 p3/7.
James came from Old Basing and as yet I have not come across his death but will let you know if I do. BTW. Fanny is one of my great aunts something like 5 or 6 greats and they had 11 children that I have found so far, if you are interested.

Hi Tuppence
Thanks for the info. It would be grate if you could let me have the details of their children. Andrew is my 3x gt grandfather. family history online shows that there was a james want who was buried in 1833, so this could be worth checking out.
thanks again

Hi Peter,
I got this info from Sean Traynors' site which I found on RootsWeb he has many of my ancestors in his lists. As for the James Want death in 1833 not sure as the last child that I have was born in 1834. This will all need to be checked out as I have not had the time to verify what Sean has, but he might have more records that he hasn't shown.
Anyway here is what I have:
Fanny m. James Want of Old Basing on the 14 March 1816
Their children:-
William b. 1816
Charles b. 1818
James b. 1820 baptised 4 March 1820
Charlotte b. 1822
George b. 1824
Hannah b. 1826
Elizabeth b. 1828
David b. 1830
Joseph b. 1831
Andrew b. 1833
Henry b. 1834
Still doing research so will let you know if I come across more info. Do hope this will help and set you in the right direction. Just wish I had had the time to verify this and if you do I would appreciate if you could let me know.
Have a good day
Tuppence
