    Question George Gifford

I am searching for information on the Gifford family. George would have been our g.g. granfather. He was born about 1809 in North Cadbury, Somerset. He married a Sarah Letitia Cock around 1835-1843. They lived in Sparkford and had many childred which I have found on census. I need information on George and Sarah and their births, marriage and parentage. Can anyone help?

In 1851 the family were at another farm, next to the current site of Wincanton Racecourse.

I have been having trouble trying to reach you. Please let me know if you receive this.

I am looking for a male, male-line descendant of your Gifford branch who might be willing to take a y-chromosome DNA test, at no cost, which is part of a larger project identifying all the Gifford families in England. I know that Roger Edward William Gifford, a descendant of George of North Cadbury, posted a query in 1991, but his address is no longer valid.

    Thanks.

    Paul Gifford
