    On two occassions now I have found people who belonged to the P S A. There was a cricket ground in my local town named as the P S A playing field. After much searching and asking no one seems to really know what this association was or is.

    A double mystery (to me at least). I have a Scotland baptism record for Robert Monro Peterkin 1845, son of James Peterkin and Marjory Monro. In the margin is the surname Peterkin, but written underneath is Morice app 156. I'm not sure if it is Morice or Mouce. Any ideas what the entry means?...

    I have a baptism record from 1811 Lanarkshire, scotland. It lists the mother as "Margaret Newlands sp. A.D.N." I am presuming the sp means spouse as she wasn't a spinster but unclear about ADN. Any ideas anyone? Thank you

  10. odd note for peoples occupation

    hi i noticed two people (aged 20 and 15) on the census under the occupation heading as having what looked like a capital D with a sort of curved tail to the right. i wondered if this meant disabled. i've not seen it elsewhere although i'm fairly new to this. any ideas? thanks
