Forum: Pet Hates, Moans & Groans

Everyone has something that drives them crazy, so tell us about it here. Please, no personal attacks or flaming.

  1. Angry What a pain!

Once upon a time Aspirins came in a glass bottle of 100. They had probably been sitting in your bathroom cabinet for ages. If you had a headache, you would go to the bathroom, shake out a couple of pills and goodbye headache. These days we can't be trusted to buy 100 all at once, in case we have...

  2. TV Presenters who can't keep quiet

Grrrrrrrr! I could so slap Alan Titchmarsh. Wonderful few minutes singing along (under my breath so I don't frighten the neighbours :) ) to 'Jerusalem' at the Last Night of the Proms, and barely had the last note finished than he has to chip in with 'Hubert Parry's 'Jerusalem'....' etc completely...

  3. Barbequed Fish

OK, so I'm not a grumpy old man, but my grump of the day is the neighbours, who, just as I settled down to relax in my lovely backyard (which I don't have a lot of time to enjoy these days), decided to throw stinky fish on the barbeque! Blyech! Linda

  4. Rubber-neckers!!

I don't know what you call them in the UK - rubber-neckers are those drivers who insist on slowing down (some even slamming on their brakes:mad: ) and gawking at any vehicle that has stopped on the highway, on the side of the highway, or any kind of accident, regardless of whether there is anything...

  5. TV blues

There is a really good reason why we only own a 5 in BW telly, the following illustrates my point My wife started watching a programme here called Media Watch, you know - exposes all the %$&&** in the various media. Well they blew the whistle on one TV programme This current affairs...

  6. New words with opposite meanings

Have you noticed the new words used by youngsters? Words that mean exactly the opposite to their real meaning? Since when was "cool" anything other than to do with temperature Why does "wicked" now mean fabulous? When did the meaning of "heavy" change from being something to do with...

  7. Biggin' it up

Why do we have expressions such as 'vertically-challenged' and 'follically-challenged' when what is meant is 'short' and 'bald'? I'm considering taking the government to court as I believe that in making me use such long words in order to be politically correct, that they are in fact breaching my...

  8. Angry Child-proof caps on bottles!

Or whatever they're called! I'm not a child but I can't do it! Apart from the ones you have to 'press' in a certain place, then turn, there's the others which you have to push down and turn ...... maybe even more ways. Hubby always has to open them for me and once my seven year old Grandaughter...
