I have information for 1871 census as follows:-

RG10/643 99 8
Rotherhithe, Surrey
16 Surrey Road
William Forder, head, 45
Emma, wife, 47
William, son, 18
Ann, dau, 9
Sophia,dau, 7
Emma, dau, 5
George, son, 2

For 1891 census:-
RG12/381 132 17
Rotherhithe, London
542 Rotherhithe Street
Emma Forder, head, wid, 65
George, son, 21

It has been suggested that the family could be recorded as Fordham for 1881, but I cannot find either name. Probably my lack of skill.

I would welcome any help for 1881 census and also any information relating to this family.

Hi Martin,
I have done a fairly extensive search for William Folder & family on 1881 census and he seems to have eluded it.

I have however found what I assume to be his death registration.

William Forder age 58 St Olave Southwark Registration district (This includes Rotherhithe) December Quarter 1886 Vol 1d Page 209.

Cheers, Jeremy.

Jeremy,

I searched: EMM* FOR* b: 1825 +/- 5 and up it popped! If you did a search that included born in Rotherhithe, it would not have come up, as the town was mis-transcribed as Rothithe (see above). If you did a search on Rotherhithe, Surrey as the census location it would not have come up as the census is transcribed as being in Rotherhithe, London (see above). Or maybe I'm just REALLY GOOD!! ;)
