RE: Joseph Davis (Davies) born 1844 (St John's Wood and Marylebone) and Emily Davis (Nee Vowles) born 1849, Chelsea?

I have been unable to find a marriage entry for my GG Grandfather and Grandmother on searching the BMD records and I now hope to trace their marriage through Parish registers ( I believe my GG Grandfather was C of E, although the majority of my family are RC). I found an entry for my GG Grandparents on the 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901 census records, and on the 1871 census they were shown as living in the civil parish of Paddington in the Parliamentary Borough of Marylebone. This is around the time their first child (Joseph) was born (1869). I would imagine they were married any time between 1866 and 1869.

Can anyone give me any advice on where to begin searching for appropriate parish records.

Thanks for any help you are able to give

Anglican parish registers for the various churches in the Paddington area (and Marylebone) are held at, and on microfilm at, the London Metropolitan Archives.
Once you get a bit further west, down towards Shepherds Bush, you find that there are some which have not been deposited, but I can't think of anywhere that would reasonably be described as "Paddington" that this applies to, so you should be OK for the lot there.

Their WEB SITE (http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/corporation/family-research/) has details of location, contacts, opening hours etc.

I expect it's noted on the web site somewhere, but in case not, be warned that they close for stocktaking for the first two weeks of November.
