If anyone has access to these church records I would appreciate a look up of the marriage between Thomas Knowles and Elizabeth Percival 18 April 1799.
Thanks Jen

I don't think the parish of Helsby came into existance till 1850/60s so any events in 1799 should have taken place at Frodsham St Lawrence. The PRs are here.

For such a small community, (692 in 1851, 1572 in 1901) Helsby used to boast a surprising 4 churches / chapels at one point.

But it was not constituted as a Parish in its own right until 1875, with what is now St Paul's church being built in 1870 as a chapel of Frodsham.
Record for St.Pauls are at Chester.

Thanks UK. However, I'm afraid this is not the one. Just where did Thomas get married? I guess it is just not on the IGI.
Thanksagain

I posted 2 marriages and looked at this one before the second. You found him for me in Manchester, I never thought to look at such an early marriage. He was only 18. I have requested information on the lic. from Chester. Hope they have it! They did have the lic. for his second marriage in 1801 so I am hopeful.
Thanks
