I'm desperately needing help with this ROGERS/RODGERS family. Please if you can help I'd be very greatfull.
Background first:

Edmund Lewis ROGERS born 1830 St Pancras, London...... Was in still in London in 1861 Census. Married Fanny Frederica Rosina WILLIAMS born 1844 in London to George and Fanny WILLIAMS in Invercargill in 1865. (I have marriage certificate) George WILLIAMS occupation is listed as 'Army'....don't find them family in the 1861 UK census
Edmund and Fanny F.R. had thirteen children.
Edmund died on 29 Dec 1894 at Leven Street, Invercargill and is buried with two of his sons.....Edmund Lewis and George Williams in Invercargill cemetery.
After Edmund's death Fanny F.R. left NZ for South Africa with seven children around 1899.

1) Please can you help me with Edmund ROGERS and Fanny F.R. WILLIAMS' arrivals to New Zealand. Fanny .....I haven't a clue.... some time before June 1865 (marriage). Edmund's death certificate Dec 1894 it says he had been in New Zealand for 32 years thus making his immigration to New Zealand abt 1862.....

2) Four children remained in New Zealand
i: Florence Hilda ROGERS born 1868 (ref 1407) in Invercargill, New Zealand. In 1893 she was a spinster and governess living at Leven Street
ii: Eliza Burrett ROGERS born 1872 (ref: 1623) in Invercargill, New Zealand. In 1893 she was a spinster and music teacher living at Leven Street
iii: Denis ROGERS born Jan/Mar 1875 in Invercargill, New Zealand. ....... In the 1916 NZ Gazette there is a possible Denis Rogers......shearer Oamaru Military call up
iv: Dorothy ‘Dolly’ ROGERS born 1881 in Invercargill, New Zealand.
Had they passed on? Why did they remain? Did they marry and have offspring? Any information would be appreciated.........marriage, children, deaths

3) Departure from New Zealand..........can you help there?
That would be for:
Fanny Frederica Rosina ROGERS (mother) b 1844 London
Fanny Elizabeth ROGERS b 1866 (ref 1109) Invercargill
Charles ROGERS b 1869 (ref 1463) Invercargill
Maude ROGERS b 1871 (ref 1553) Invercargill
Winifred ROGERS b 1879 (ref 1983) Invercargill
George Williams ROGERS b 1880 Invercargill
and
Laura ROGERS b 1882 Invercargill

The son/brother Harry Williams ROGERS b 1877 Invercargill immigrated to South Africa leaving before the rest of the family......? prior to 1899???

4) Any further info on Fanny's family if any would be appreciated..... when did they arrive in NZ.......did they live in Invercargill.....did she have sibling???

5) Any information about Edmund Lewis ROGERS born 1867 (ref 13623) in Invercargill, New Zealand.

6) Occupations for any of the male family. George and Harry went on to be accountants and their Father Edmund Lewis Snr was a Banker. I'm therefore thinking that the Denis Rogers .... shearer might not be part and parcel of this family.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanking you

HAve you checked if they came to NZ through Dunedin? A lot of setlers arrived in Dunedin first before moving on to Invercargill. IF I were you, I would get in touch with the Otago Early Settlers Museum in DN and see if they can find your family on any ships that arrived in the time period you're looking for.

You can also try these websites

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~shipstonz/shipstonz.htm

http://www.angelfire.com/az/nzgenweb/index.html

check both Otago (for Dunedin) and Misc Ports - for Invercargill.

Hope this helps
