Aarr Chris
You've read my other message WILLIAMS/PETTINGAL....re ARMY
I've attached a copy of the baptism cert. Perhaps you may read it differently to me.
I read it clearly as Grosvernor Square and Berkley ......if it's 'St' I can't be 100% sure.
Thanks for the look up, the info in regards to the address (very interesting) and the address to the map. I was looking for streets on the Multimap. Sometimes between then and now the street disappears
Regards

I don't know why I can't attach the file. I tried again but when viewing it, it looks pretty much as the last one although it's uploaded successfully.

Mythology
In 1865 in Invercargill, New Zealand Fanny Frederica Rosina WILLIAMS married Edmund Lewis ROGERS.........of the family ROGERS that you helped me with before.... born St Pancras.
Banged my head against a wall with them and it looks like the Williams family is also going to hit the same wall. Thought I had a mountain of info to run with but every turn has me grinding to a halt.
Thanks a million

I've written to the archives in Invercargill to see if they have any further info to add.......perhaps siblings. I'm thinking the only other option I have would be to get a copy of the army file that could be a possible match to George Williams in the London Archives.....Geoffer's lead on the Williams/Pettingall thread I posted.
Thanks once again for the trouble

Sorry Fulhamster,
Missed your reply due to fetching my Hubby at the airport. Mmmm airport 550km away....so took a coupla days off to travel there and back.
Yes, you are probably right about me getting the names of the archives wrong.....London is just a biiiiggg city on my map where I sometimes get totally lost......but I am learning all the time.
Will get back to you about the file numbers....actually two files. William James TAYLOR and George WILLIAMS.
Another thought.....would you know if there is an Internet site where I could look up obituaries. It has been suggested that I might find a place of birth for Henry ROGERS mentioned in an obituary and also sometimes there could possibly be a write up about the passing of a 'gentleman' or soldier.
Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

The files I'm after are at the National Archives
George WILLIAMS File Number: WO 97/542/136 St Marylebone between 1842-1844
and the second file
William James Taylor is either File Number: WO 97/3999 or WO 97/4000 Boer War 1899-1902 (born 1873 Cleator Cumberland)
So if you are ever in the area of Kew again please could you help
Thanks a Million
Lynn
