Could anyone assist with this long standing brick wall ?
Ann Coomer was my Wife's 2X Great Grandmother. Born at Almondsbury (from the 1851 census) she married Francis Caswell of Bitton (Castle ,wrongly shown on the IGI and the marriage certificate) at LLangattock 16th. Aug.1815. They were back in Bitton by 1817.
From the same census her date of birth would be C.1796.
Not able to find birth, baptism or parents for Ann.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Roy

I got intrigued by your search and wonder if the following baptism could be yours (IGI)
Hannah Comer christened 26th December 1790 Bristol
Parents: James and Hannah Comer
Batch: C017181
I realise that you have two proofs of age in censuses to say she was born in 1796 but women often made their ages younger so as to not be older than their husbands.
Also Almondsbury is a parish of Bristol so she could have been born in Almondsbury and christened in Bristol.
Also the spellings and variants of names changed widely even for the same person over years.
It's a long shot but might be worth considering.

Hi,
Thanks for looking up Ann Comer for me. You could well ahve found the correct one.
I know from experience that Ann very often was a Hannah.
I do appreciate your effort on my behalf.
Have a Good New Year. Roy
PS sorry if I was a little slow in responding.
