Hiya its my first time on here.
i am trying to trace some of my family can anyone help me out?
i have tried a few sites without any luck so far.
Christopher Harris my great grandad. born about 1890.
his address was 10, Cameron Street, Barrow Infurness.
he married Meta Emily Woods. she was orignally from the Isle of Man.

You may have more luck on the Furness board as Barrow-in-Furness was never a part of Cumberland. It was (and still is to some of us!) in Lancashire North of the Sands. HTH :)

There is a Christopher Harris aged 8 on the 1891 census for Barrow, his mother Martha a widow is head of house. If you would like details let me know

Have you tried the 1901 yet?

You mention his bride, do you have his marriage certificate? This should have his age and so tie down the rough year of birth a bit more. From there, you will need to look for his birth certificate. Try freebmd site first.

If you are near a Local Studies Library then they should have the GRO indexes on fiches. If you find an entry, then you can apply for a copy of the relevant certificate. You can do this online at www.gro.gov.uk (http://www.gro.gov.uk)

I think this may be your Christopher Harris' birth March quarter 1883 ref: 8c 872 district BarrowF. If you get the certificate it will give you his mother's full names including maiden name
