I have just one living relative living in pershore (my father)-the family tree was compiled juring the first world war by the then vicar of pershore. This was given to my GG uncle but sadly lost in a house move from little priest lane to priest lane. I only found out about this a short while ago after researching the family name for three years.I t would be great to find the" lost tree" but i dont hold any hope of doing so.
I need to find out as much as I can about my lost family.
Regards
Jim Grinnell

My Surname is Wilkinson, For some reason it was changed to that by my grandfather.
My Grandmothers maiden name was Grinnell, her first name was Mary.

Hi Bryan,
Reading your thread my immediate conclusion is that your father was probably born illegitimately to Mary Grinnell, if that was her maiden name. The most likely answer being your grandfather was Wilkinson and they probably married after the birth of your father and changed your father's name to his.

The 1901 census for Grinnell in Pershore/Evesham area definitely shows a connection with Lancashire. There are several members of that name in both areas and some Worcestershire Grinnells were born in Lancashire and vice versa.

This is my first time here and my very first week of searching for my family tree.I'm totally absorbed and facinated by all this. It will not help your quest but I lived in Priest Lane for 33 years and I knew your family. I'm sure they lived in Little Priest lane.
Cheers.
